Cotswolds - one day workshop £140

NEXT AVAILABLE DATES:
9th June, 23rd June,7th July 2013

Officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds is known for being one of the most quintessentially 'English' and unspoiled regions of the UK. With its gentle hillsides, river valleys and delightful honey coloured villages there is plenty to offer the photographer. Having grown up in the area, Sarah has an intimate knowledge of the Cotswolds and will share with you her techniques and enthusiasm.

This one-day workshop has been designed to help you improve your photography in two ways; by developing your creative eye, and by gaining a better understanding of your camera and its capabilities to enable you to get the best results. Regardless of whether you recently picked up a camera for the first time, or have been shooting for years, this is sure to be an enjoyable and beneficial days' shooting. We will visit a variety of picturesque Cotswold locations over the course of the day, including the Snowshill Lavender farm on the July workshop to capture the wonderful colours.

With a maximum group size of eight, we will work together with you to ensure you receive a high level of individual tuition. Whether you are a beginner or enthusiast, shoot digital or film, the workshops are designed to help develop your skills as a landscape photographer, at some of the most picturesque locations the Cotswolds has to offer.

The day is fairly relaxed, but you will have the chance to create a number of images with constructive advice, enabling you to get the most from your camera, whatever your level of knowledge.

During the day we will cover some of the main aspects of landscape photography:
  • Working with the light - the vital role light plays in landscape photography.
  • 'Finding' the image - previsualisation, composition, lead in lines, rule of thirds, symmetry
  • The relationship between shutter, aperture and ISO
  • Depth of field and focusing
  • Use of the histogram to determine exposure
  • Use of appropriate filters
  • Understand white balance and colour temperature
  • Jpeg verses RAW

All tuition is out in the field on location and we will usually visit around four locations during the day.
  • Maximum group size of 9 with 2 tutors to ensure plenty of individual attention
  • £140 per person for a full day workshop - start time 8:45am- finish at approximately 5:00pm - includes tuition, transport to all locations, tea/coffee and a cafe or picnic lunch, weather dependent.
  • All levels of ability are welcome
  • Equipment needed: SLR camera; tripod ...and plenty of enthusiasm!
